The Metal Cube
Many materials are called metal names such as "Gold, Silver, Copper, Brass" by borrowing sparkle from metal. 100 materials, called metal names, were scanned and stacked to create a square book that was 45mm across. The object that existed as a solid (3D) became a plane (2D) through scanning, and then piled up to become a solid (3D) again. Pages filled with metal expressions and borrowed materials made real. It was placed side by side with Brass, Copper and Aluminum of the same size to compare the weight and surface of the actual.

많은 재료들은 금속에게 반짝임을 빌려 “Gold, Silver, Copper, Brass”와 같은 금속의 이름으로 불린다. 금속의 이름으로 불리는 소재 100가지를 스캔하여 켜켜이 쌓아 가로x세로x높이가 45mm인 정방형의 책을 만들었다. 입체(3D)로 존재하던 대상은 스캔하는 과정을 통해 평면(2D)이 되고, 켜켜이 쌓여 다시 입체(3D)가 되었다. 금속의 표현과 이름을 빌린 소재로 채워진 페이지가 쌓여 진짜가 되었다. 같은 규격의 황동, 적동, 알루미늄과 나란히 두어 실재의 무게와 표면을 비교하여 감상할 수 있게 하였다.
